Starting a new medium brings honest technical questions. Here is everything you need to know about software compatibility, tablet requirements, and your starting skill level.
Do I need Adobe Photoshop, or will Procreate on iPad work just as well?
Both work seamlessly. Every technique, brush preset, and lighting principle in the academy is demonstrated in both Procreate and Photoshop. You will receive native file formats (.procreate, .brushset, .psd, and .abr) so you can follow along effortlessly regardless of your preferred app.
What tablet or hardware specifications do I need to get started?
Any pressure-sensitive tablet is sufficient. If you work on iPad, any standard model supporting the Apple Pencil (6th gen or newer, Air, or Pro) is perfect. For Mac or PC, any graphic tablet from Wacom, Huion, or XP-Pen (even budget non-screen models) provides everything you need.
I have zero drawing background. Can a true beginner really achieve these results?
Yes. We do not assume you have prior art school training. The curriculum starts with fundamental mark-making, structural forms, and brush control before advancing to complex color harmonies and rendering. Over 60% of our successful alumni started with zero digital painting experience.
Do I need to invest in expensive third-party brushes or plugins?
Not at all. You receive our custom 28-piece Master Studio brush engine upon enrollment, containing every textured dry brush, wet oil blender, and paper grain canvas effect used throughout the academy.
How much time per week do I need to invest to see genuine progress?
The curriculum is completely self-paced with lifetime access. Most students achieve notable transformation committing just 3 to 5 hours per week, split between concise 15-minute lessons and practical weekend painting studies.
